  1. Have cabbage prepared before Halushki is made.
  2. Add salt, egg and flour to potatoes and mix well. Dough should not be thin. More or less flour may be used according to size of potatoes.
  3. Put dough on plate. Use a teaspoon to scrape off small portions at a time and place in boiling water. Boil about 15 minutes. Keep stirring to prevent scorching. Drain in colander. Rinse once with water. Don't let Halushki get too cold, place in bowl.
  4. Brown onion in shortening, add cabbage and fry slowly until browned, about 20 minutes. Pour over Halushki, mix well (salt to taste) and serve hot.

  1. In medium saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Blend in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts and mix well.
  2. Spread in greased 8" or 9" square or round pan.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
  4. Cool and cut into squares.

  1. Cream sugar and butter; add eggs one at a time and beat well. Combine soda and sour cream, then alternately add with combined flour and salt to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned.

Hawaiian Wedding Cake

  1. Sift together flour, sugar and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients. Combine well but do not beat. Turn batter into a greased and floured 13" X 9" X 2" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Topping
  1. Combine cream cheese, margarine, vanilla and powdered sugar. Mix well. Frost cake while still warm.

  1. Cook whole head of cauliflower. (Heat salted water. Add cauliflower, cover and heat to boiling. Cook 20 - 25 minutes.)
  2. Place cauliflower in casserole dish.
Sauce
  1. In saucepan, heat butter until melted. Blend in flour, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat, stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
  2. Stir in cheese and pepper sauce. Stir over low heat until cheese is melted.
  3. Pour sauce over cauliflower.

  1. Mix the above ingredients by hand and divide in half. Put one half on the bottom of 9" X 13" pan and press to cover bottom. Spread jam or preserves on top, then put remaining half on top of jam. Press down to cover jam.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

  1. Place pineapple in greased casserole. Mix together the cheese, sugar and flour. Pour over pineapple. Mix together the cracker crumbs and melted butter. Spoon over pineapple mixture. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

  1. Blend together eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Stir into egg mixture. Fold in apples, nuts and raisins. Bake in greased and floured 9 X 13 pan. 350 degrees - 1 hour. Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into squares.

  1. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg yolk, mix well. Sift flour with cinnamon and salt. Add flour mixture to butter mixture. Mix lightly but thoroughly, use hands. Spread in even layer on medium size cookie sheet. Smooth surface. Beat egg white slightly. Spread egg white over top of cookie. Sprinkle with nuts. Press nuts into dough. Bake 275 degrees 45 - 50 minutes Cut while hot.
