RRA Hosts the Fall OLCA Conference

Last week, the RRA had the honor of hosting the Fall Conference of the Ohio Lake Communities Association (OLCA).

OLCA conferences provide an opportunity for lake communities like ours to come together, share ideas, attend breakout sessions, and learn from one another.

As many have been noticing, the lake is experiencing a return of blue-green algal blooms. We have been monitoring the situation and have obtained some additional testing results. What we are experiencing is the equivalent of the perfect storm.

We are starting to see the signs that fall is just around the corner. A time when we enjoy the brilliant colors on display around the lake. The problem starts once the leaves start to fall.

Why the concern of leaves in the lake? As leaves fall into the water, they begin a natural decomposition process. This decomposition consumes oxygen in the water, particularly in shallow areas, creating a condition known as hypoxia. Read more

Dredging Dirt Loading Available 8-26 & 8-27

For anyone who needs dirt and help loading it, the RRA Maintenance Department will be at its dewatering site, located on Crosby Cook Rd from 8am to 2:15pm on Tuesday, August 26th and Wednesday, August 27th. Our guys will have equipment available all day to load your trailer or truck.

Lake Treatment Scheduled 8-26

Update: The treatment was applied as planned on 8-26. All lake activities may resume as of 8-28. Have a great and safe Labor Day Weekend!

Conditions on the lake have resulted in a decision to schedule an algaecide treatment on the northern half of the lake for Tuesday, August 26th. This includes a line from about Sugar Creek north.
