In Memorial: Delois Marshall
Our hearts go out to the family of Rory Marshall with the passing of his mother Delois.
Delois Fayetta “Toni “Marshall, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2018, at her home in Pierpont, Ohio.
She was born September 8, 1929, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Wayne E. and Avonell (Schlecht) Tanner, and lived in Pierpont, Ohio, her entire adult life. She was married to the love of her life, John S. Marshall, on Aug 20, 1952.
Delois “Toni” was a very religious person and a faithful and active member of Pierpont Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was an avid participant of the Woman’s Circle. She served as a Girl Scout/Brownie leader, belonged to the Fire Bells. Toni enjoyed Eastern Star and was a Past Matron of Relief Chapter 546, Pierpont and member of Orion Chapter 12, Kingsville, for more than 60 years.
Toni and John owned and operated the Whippy Dip in Pierpont and managed the Dog & Suds. She also worked at the Ashtabula Bar & Restaurant Supply in Ashtabula.
Survivors include her children, Helen E. Tobie, Janet L. Brockett, Heather D. (Tracy) Williams, Rory S. (Stefanie) Marshall, Peter J. (Liz) Marshall and Mary Jayne (Rob) Lahti; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Toni was preceded in death by her husband John S. Marshall of 56 years; and brothers Donald Tanner and Ronald Tanner; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 22, 2018, at the Pierpont Presbyterian Church, 71 St. Rt. 7, Pierpont, Ohio. Rev. Larry Carr will officiate.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 1071 St. Rt. 7 North, Pierpont, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made in Toni’s name to Pierpont Presbyterian Church, or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004.

Annual Community Garage Sale 2018
It’s time to start planning for the Annual Roaming Shores Garage Sale! This year, the event will again be held 2 days, Friday, June 15th and Saturday, June 16th from 9am-4pm.
If you are planning on participating in the Garage Sale, please fill out the form below. We will add your address to a list with a street map so that visitors will know where to find you. Signs will also be available at the RRA Office that may be posted to your mailbox or at the end of your street.
If you do not want people parking in front of your property, please post No Parking Signs.

Tennis Court Instructor Wanted
We have had inquiries at the office if there was anyone in the Shores who would be able to give tennis lessons to residents (mainly to children). If you would be able to help or have a recommendation, please contact the office.

5K Preregistration Discount for 5K ends June 1st
Attention racers! The Roaming Shores 5K will be held on June 30th (the day of the Fireworks). Those registered by June 1st can take advantage of discounted registration and will be guaranteed a shirt or tank top. Limited shirts will be available race day.
The 5K is a great athletic event for both seasoned pros and beginners! The race will be professionally timed by Stasny Road Racing using ChronoTrack; real-time results and social media updates!
A common question we get is whether you can walk the 5K and the answer is YES!
Proceeds from the race will benefit our local Safety Services and the STARS Club, which organizes several events in the Shores and the annual Fireworks Display!

This Tuesday, May 8th is the Primary Election for the State of Ohio. For residents of Roaming Shores, your polling place is the Clubhouse (13 Roaming Rock Blvd). Polls will be open across the state from 6:30am to 7:30pm. Remember to exercise your right to vote!

Annual Meeting this Saturday
The RomeRock Association will be holding its Annual Meeting this Saturday, April 28th at 1pm in the Clubhouse.
The Annual Meeting is the biggest RRA meeting of the year. The Treasurer’s report for fiscal year 2017 will be presented, the Directors will report on activities of the past year and plans for the current year. Refreshments and food will be served at the Clubhouse following the meeting.
Please make an effort to attend as the growth and success of our association depends on the active participation of its members!
**Please note, the Office will close at 11am on the 28th to set up for the Annual Meeting and will not open until an hour after the Meeting is adjourned.
RSV Compost Site
As many begin cleaning up their lots for spring, residents can sign out a key at the RRA office to open the compost site gate (located off of Route 6 adjacent to Lake Vue) . The gate is locked to help prevent further abuse of the facility.
No trees, branches or stumps from lot clearing operations are allowed to be disposed of at the site.
