2024 Polar Bear Plunge

The 2024 Polar Bear Plunge is scheduled for Saturday, March 9th. Sign-in starts a 1pm and ends at 2:45, DJ begins at 1pm and Plunge begins at 3pm!

Money raised will benefit the Jeffrey B. Meddock Memorial Scholarship at Pymatuning Valley Schools, Grand Valley Schools student programs in memory of Emily Plickert, Jefferson Area Local Schools Academic Boosters, Thomas Zirkle Memorial ATECH Scholarship and the Roaming Shores Kids’ Breakfast with Santa event.

To assist us in our efforts, we are taking orders in advance for our annual plunge t-shirts and hoodies. T-shirts will sell for $15, zipped hoodies $35, and pullover hoodies $30 each. Payment in advance is required at the time of order and the last day we can accept an order is Feb. 20th.  Make checks payable to RSPBC and mail to 62 Rockaway Dr.  Roaming Shores, OH 44085.  Any individual who wishes to donate to this years’ plunge, please mail your check to this same address.  Questions, 330-507-4917 or 440-812-3441

July 13th Island Extravaganza

The Polar Bear Club is excited to host our “Island Extravaganza”! July 13th (rain date 7/14), we are providing hot dogs, hamburgers, pop and water to every boater or jet ski that stops at the island on our beautiful Lake Roaming Rock. How many of us have went around the island and never stopped to enjoy? We wanted to take a day to celebrate the beautiful view! We are asking for a donation if able, and offer a 50/50 raffle! Music provided and time allotted is 12-3, or as supplies last.

Oct 5th Clam Bake and Chicken Dinner

The Polar Bear Club will host a Clam Bake & Chicken Dinner at the Clubhouse on October 5th begining at 3pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance from Club members and will also be available at the RRA Office and the Marina. Includes clams, chicken, corn, potato, bread, salad and dessert.

Dec 14th Breakfast with Santa

The 2024 Children’s Christmas with Santa will be held Saturday, December 14th beginning at 9am.

Registration is required with a cutoff date of Friday, December 6th.   Please email the Polar Bear Club at:  joeythepolarbear@yahoo.com

When registering, please leave the following information:

  1. Family name
  2. Children’s name, age, and gender
  3. Preference of 9:00, 9:30, 10:00,10:30 reservation (due to the amount of children, Santa has asked we spread out the times so he has time to spend with the children)

The Polar Bear Club will send an email confirmation that you are registered within 48 hours of receiving.

Volunteer!

There is no requirement that you take the plunge to be a part of the Club. We are just looking for like minded individuals, whether that means you like the icy water or the charities we help.     The Roaming Shores Polar Bear Club would like to invite you to come have breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 13th at Sacred Heart Church (Note new location due to the clubhouse renovation) and tell him what you want for Christmas!  Every child will receive a gift from Santa when he arrives. The party is free to all children and grandchildren of Roaming Shores residents, age 12 and under.

    We will be serving pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and applesauce.  We will also have an assortment of beverages.

    Registration is required with a cutoff date of Friday, December 5th.  To reserve your seats, please email the Polar Bear Club at: rspolarbearclub@gmail.com
