In the latest President’s Comments, Barry O’Connell spoke about members of the Board visiting Grand Lake St. Marys and learning about their dredging operation. Click on the album below to look at pictures from this trip and read descriptions about the dredging operation.

The Annual Roaming Shores Fireworks Display is scheduled for June 30th at 10pm with a rain date of July 1st.

This year, there will be a new buoy area to be setup the afternoon of the fireworks to be taken down the following day. Please see the map below. No boats will be allowed inside the new buoy area from 8pm until the end of the fireworks. (click for bigger)

This past week, myself, Bob & Karen Sobczak, Rick & Janice Rumbaugh, and Rick Gainar attended the Spring OLCA Meeting in Hide A Way Hills, which is located outside of Lancaster, OH.

Hide A Way Hills is a 1650 acre private lake association, much like our own, with many amenities available for its 801 members. The RRA’s Pools and Concession stand will open for the season next weekend (May 26th). The pools will open at 10am and the Concession Stand will open at Noon. Remember, you must present your Membership Card or Guest Pass each time you visit the pools and beaches. Here’s to a great season!

The RRA & RSV Offices will be closed on Monday (May 28th) in observation of Memorial Day. Thank you to all those who have served in the Armed Services!

Steve Macintyre has been been keeping a watchful eye on the growing eaglets. In this picture (click for bigger) the eaglet in the center is easy to see, the one on the left just has it’s head showing. Thanks as always, Steve!

Dues & Assessments for 2012 were due May 1st. 2011 Membership Cards have expired. If your boat is on the lake, it must have 2012 RRA boat decals affixed in order to avoid a citation.

It was a full house this weekend at the 45th Annual Meeting of the RomeRock Association. Over 80 members came to the meeting to hear about the Association, the tasks completed since last year, and learn the results of the Board of Directors election. Bob Sobczak was re-elected to another term and is joined by newcomer Richard Gainar who has replaced Board Member Joe Petraus.

The RRA Annual Meeting is April 28th @ 1pm at the RRA Clubhouse. The Annual Meeting is where the results of the Board of Directors election are made public and the Board is reorganized. Come learn about the Association and its Clubs and Committees!

The RRA Office will be closed two hours prior to the meeting and an hour following.

Please take note that the May Shores News will be delayed in order to cover and publish the results of the Board of Directors election which will be announced at the April 28th Annual Meeting.

The newspaper will be printed and mailed on May 1st and should arrive in homes on Wednesday, May 3rd.
