Free Firewood

A land owner located 1.5 miles East of Roaming Shores on Hayford and Stumpville Road is allowing those who need firewood access to 100 acres of his land that is being select cut-crop released. There are numerous trails that provide easy access to the firewood. Please avoid driving on these trails when wet to avoid creating ruts. Also, please do not litter. The firewood you take out is free and unlimited and easy to handle, only take the wood that is on the ground. Do not cut standing trees.

If you need help loading or cutting firewood, there are men there who can help for a small fee. Arrangements can also be made to have precut wood delivered.

Obituary by: Bring Funeral Home

Nancy C. Horst was born to Carl and Loree Wyndham, January 20, 1933 in Bloomville, Ohio. She passed into the hands of her Lord, June 29, 2012. She was raised in the Colorado Springs and Florissant, Colorado areas. She married Carl Horst, USAF on March 26, 1949. After a short time in California they settled in Ashtabula County, Ohio. They raised a family and all enjoyed boating and sailing Lake Erie plus a mixture of school activities. She treasured her 13 years managing a junior high school library. In her early 40’s she enrolled at Capitol University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. During her Junior year she decided to run for Ashtabula County Recorder. She won her first and two subsequent terms before retiring. She and her husband moved to Tucson in 2006 after some years as “snow birds”. They discovered many new and caring friends. Tucson became home. She and her husband summed up their 63 years of marriage with a song, “Look at Us”. One verse is “Look at us after all these years together. Look at us after all we’ve been through. Look at us still leaning on each other. If you want to see what true love can be, just look at us.” She is survived by her husband and daughters, Catherine Blum, of Indiana, Debra Polgar, of Alabama and Diane Kent, of Arizona. Also by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Wilson; brothers, Max, Bill and Jim Snare all of Colorado. A Memorial Service will be held at her church, Rincon UCC, at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2012. The church is located at 122 N. Craycroft, Tucson, AZ. 85710. Her wish was for memorial contributions to the church. Arrangements are being handled by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Please visit us at bringfuneralhome.com.

Eaglet Update (5/30/12)

Steve Macintyre has shared with us another update on the young eaglets. The eaglets are now 6 weeks old, but they will not fledge for another couple of months. In this picture you can see one of the eaglets looking out. With the tree full of leaves now, it is harder to see the whole nest.
