Four candidates have filed for the four available Council seats, and two candidates have filed for Mayor. The mayoral candidates are incumbent Jennie D’Amicone and Duane Helms. The term of office for these positions will run from 2026 through 2029. Residents are invited to attend a Meet the Mayoral Candidates Night at the RomeRock Association Clubhouse on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event will be moderated by the Ashtabula County League of Women Voters. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in writing prior to the start of the debate. The League of Women Voters is a political grassroots network and membership organization that has worked for more than a century to empower voters and protect democracy. It is a women-led, nonpartisan organization that believes voting is a fundamental right and is dedicated to ensuring elections remain fair and unbiased. Category: RSV 11:00 am: Can the Cruiser Close 11:00 am: Can the Cruiser 11:00 am – 3:00 pmNovember 1, 2025 The Roaming Shores Police Department would like to encourage and invite our community and the surrounding communities to participate in our 7th annual Can the Cruiser Food Drive. On November 2nd from 11:00 to 3:00 the Roaming Shores Police Department’s cruisers will be parked at two locations, #1 the Village of Roaming Shores Administration Building; 2500 Hayford Road, Roaming Shores Ohio 44084 and #2 the Rome Rock Association Office; 1875 Rt 6, Rome Ohio 44085, to accept new nonperishable food items and monetary donations. All donations collected will be delivered to Country Neighbor and ultimately be used for their Christmas Food Basket Program or their Feed the Hope Program. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated due to their ability to purchase large quantities of food at an extremely reduced government subsidy rate. Please do not clean out your pantry and donate expired goods, they are unusable and will have to be thrown away. The Country Neighbor Program serves the needs of Southern Ashtabula and Northern Trumbull Counties and prepares approximately 175 meals daily to be delivered across the area. Country Neighbor is also Ashtabula County’s main food bank which supports approximately 15 food pantries spread across Ashtabula County. In addition to the above programs Country Neighbor also has numerous additional programs and services in the following six classifications: COMMUNITY SERVICES, HEALTH/WELLNESS SERVICES, OLDER ADULT SERVICES, NUTRITION PROGRAMS, PAPERWORK ASSISTANCE, CAREGIVER ASSISTANCE.
