Sunday, June 28th, the Club sponsored Kids Fishing Day. The weather was a little misty, but 25 kids showed up. After 2 hours of fishing, the kids caught 113 fish. The largest being 15” bass.

Many thanks to Jack McMillin for donating 20 new fishing rods for prizes and to Cantini’s Village Market for fishing worms.

After a hotdog lunch, all the kids won a prize and some won 2 prizes. Larry Pisarick won long fish of June, a 21 ¾ inch bass. Our next event will be the Dean Blanton Bass Tournament Saturday, August 22nd. Anyone who wants to enter should call Larry Pisarick at (216) 524-3346.

Boating Trivia

Ever wonder why boats have the steering wheel on the right, unlike our cars, which have the wheel on the left? The reason is that the boat on the right has the right-of-way.

The steering wheel being on the right allows the boat captain to see the other boat without obstruction of consoles or windshields.

Dock Numbers Published in the Shores News

The Association owes an apology to those residents whose dock numbers were published by the Mayor in the July Shores News. That rough list was furnished to the Village Zoning Dept by the RRA for safety reasons. The Association supplied the list because it has boats, the Village does not. The Village’s Ordinance about displaying lot numbers on docks or boat houses is a great way to assist anyone in more accurately locating where they are on the lake in the event of an emergency or other times where an accurate location in crucial.

It was not the intention of the RRA to have the list published. We would like to apologize to everyone on the list, whether they were in compliance or not, and for any inaccuracies.

We do request that anyone who does not have their address displayed on their dock or boat house to please do so ASAP, for safety sake!
