2019 Annual Meeting Recap

The Annual Meeting of the RomeRock Association took place on Saturday, April 27th. The meeting was well attended with almost every seat in the Clubhouse filled.

Members who attended learned the results of the election, the state of the Association, listened to reports from the Association’s many clubs and committees, heard the Association’s plans for the future, and took the time to address their comments and concerns to the Board. After the meeting, attendees enjoyed pizza from Paradise Bay and cookies from Cantini’s.

The results of the election were:

  • Jack McMillin – 118
  • Nadine Pope – 249

Rick Brothers retained his seat on the Board and is joined by newcomers, Cheryl Fain and Nadine Pope. Congratulations!

Following the Annual Meeting, the Board of directors held a reorganizational meeting. The Board’s organization is as follows:

Unacceptable Items are: tires, refrigerated appliances, batteries, barrels or drums, bullets or shells, commercial waste, dirt, rocks, bricks, tree stumps, combustible materials, liquid and hazardous waste, toxic materials, paint cans, yard waste, food waste and gas cylinders

Afterwards join us in the clubhouse for Expo ’19
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Scrap Tire Amnesty Event

Do you have scrap tires you would like to depart with? The Ashtabula County Solid Waste District will be hosting a tire amnesty event for Ashtabula County Residents (must show proof of residency) on May 11th from  9am to 1pm. Collection to be held at: Ashtabula County Fairgrounds (west side of North Poplar Street, Jefferson 44047) Up to 4 tires free per vehicle! $1 per tire after, up to a maximum total of 10 tires. NO oversize tires (over 22” rim size)! NO rims!

Tree Pulled out of Lake

Over our long winter, a few large trees fell into the lake. Here is some video of us using our dredging barges to assist in getting a large tree out of the lake near Morning Point.

Clubhouse Split Rail Fence Replaced

In the Association’s continuous efforts of upgrading our facilities and infrastructure, the split rail fence located at the entrance and exit of the Clubhouse was replaced last week by our maintenance crew.

It looks much better, great job! Future improvements scheduled for this year include our outdoor restroom facilities.

Summer Hours Begin April 15th

On Monday, April 15th, the RRA Office will switch over to its Summer Hours. Until mid-September, the Office will be open 7 days a week, from 9am to 5pm.

Please remember to bring both your current State Registration and your Title. Can’t find your State registration? Check on your boat.

Your Dues & Assessments must be paid in full before purchasing 2019 boat decals.

Your 2018 RRA boat decals are valid until April 30th. On and after May 1st, all boats on the lake must have 2019 RRA decals affixed.

Join the Fishing Club

For over 40 years, the Fishing Club has sponsored many programs and events to promote education, fun and competition on the lake. The Fishing Club’s first event of the year will be the Don Williams All Species Tournament on Saturday, May 25th.

This year the Fishing Club will host 2 All Species tournaments, 1 Bass Tournament, a Couples Tournament, a Kids Learn to Fish Day, the Kids Fishing Day, and a Clam Bake. The club also host monthly “Longest Fish” and the Biggest Bass of the year.

If you’re not a member yet, you can send $20 to the Fishing Club at P.O. Box 478, Roaming Shores, OH 44084. Be sure to include your Name, Address, Lot #, and Phone Number. This is a family membership.

2nd Annual Roaming Shores 5K – July 6th


Last year, the 1st Annual Roaming Shores 5K was held. We had a whopping 73 participants sign up! This year’s 5K will be held on Saturday, July 6th. This will be the same day as the Fireworks, the RSPD’s Cardboard Boat Races, and the Jason Scribben Memorial Volleyball Tournament. Save the date!!

Early registration for the 5K is now open! Early registrants can take advantage of a discounted rate and are guaranteed a shirt or tank top (limited quantities available race day). You can register online or mail-in a paper entry. This event helps support our local Safety Services and the Annual Fireworks display!
