Roaming Shores celebrated Independence Day on Saturday, June 30th. It was a hot, sunny, jam-packed day!
The morning began with the Roaming Shores 5K, sponsored by the STARS Club. 73 participants signed up for the race! It was hot early, but the runners didn’t seem to mind. Thank you very much to all of our participants, our volunteers, sponsors, Rome Fire Department, Morgan Hose Fire Department, SCAD, the Roaming Shores Police Department and to Stasny Road Racing for helping make this such a great and safe event!!

After the 5K, another race was held, the Cardboard Boat Races hosted by the Roaming Shores Police Department. 5 boats entered the race.

The Jason Scribben Memorial Volleyball Tournament is held every year in honor of Jason Scribben. Jason loved volleyball and unfortunately passed away in a boating accident on the lake in 1998.
