August 26, 2024Interested in doing YOGA in the Shores? The Roaming Shores Yoga Club practices beginner’s Hatha YOGA. We will be able to accommodate up to 30 people. A waiting list will be established, if more than 30 people sign-up.
WHAT IS HATHA YOGA: It is a wholistic mind-body-spirit approach to yoga combining breath practices, postures and meditation.
WHO: This class is suited for beginner’s, although all levels are welcome. Each participant will work at their own level and pace. Adjustments can be made for any physical challenges. All participants will be asked to sign a required waiver at their first class.
WHERE: We practice indoors at the Club House at Beach 1.
WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a mat, yoga strap, beach towel/blanket and 2 yoga blocks if you have them. Note – the floor is hard, so you may find it useful to double mat.
If you would like to practice from a chair, there are plenty of folding chairs at the Club House.
INSTRUCTOR: Michelle Vanderlip, 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certified. Substitutes from the Roaming Shores community may occur as needed.

Rib Cook-OffRib Cook-Off
August 31, 2024Who can make the best ribs in the Shores? Get your family and friends together! On Saturday, August 31st @ 4pm, the STARS Club will be hosting their 6th Annual Rib Cook–off.
This event will be limited to 8 teams. The winning team will win a prize and will be added to our winner’s plaque that was donated to the Club by John & Mary Lou Watt!

Cook Info:
- 8 Team limit
- Ribs will be provided by the STARS Club
- Team Sign-up by August 25th
- Team Entry fee: $50 (includes 2 dinners)
- Pick up ribs on Thursday, August 29th
- Each team will receive 9 slabs
- Each team must be ready to serve ribs by 4pm
- Warming trays will be provided at the Clubhouse
Cooking Rules:
Ribs will be provided to the teams by the STARS Club. Prep ribs off-site.
Each team must supply their own ingredients, tools, and any other materials needed. Ribs can be cooked in the Clubhouse area using either your own grill/smoker or the grills in the Clubhouse area (if available).

- Ticket Price: $30 Must be Prepaid
- Includes: 1 bone from each team, side dishes/beverages/desserts provided by STARS Club
- Tickets will be available at the RRA office or through STARS members closer to the date
