Message From Your Board

In response to resident social media comments shared with us, the board would like to make sure that facts are clear and concise with the community. Moving forward, we will be using the ENGAGE platform to communicate directly to our members only. Please make sure to download the App for even more connectivity to Roaming Shores information! Remember, the RomeRock Association Board of directors does not respond on social media platforms.

Lake Health
The RRA continues to do everything possible to ensure the long-term health of the lake. EPA approved algae treatments and targeted dredging are just the start. We have implemented rules to keep wake boats from stirring up the silt and eroding our shoreline. Our successful Canada Geese deterrent programs are regulated by the ODNR and several new programs are in the trial phase. We are working with government entities for long term programs to handle incoming harmful run off from the surrounding watershed. Expert consultants from outside the RRA are working with our Lake Management Committee to make it happen. The false rumor that we have diverted funds from lake health to build the clubhouse is both uninformed and untrue, to the detriment of Roaming Shores. The RRA has funded every lake health program that has a potential benefit for the community. In addition, the value of each and every property relies on our most important amenity.
THE LAKE IS OUR HEART!

Clubhouse Renovation
The clubhouse is an extremely vital structure of the community and available for use by every member in good standing. After 60 years, it was past its time and a much-needed project. The RomeRock Association is completing this project with a combination of reserve funds and bank financing. This is a well thought undertaking being spearheaded by volunteers. Countless hours are being spent by this group for the long-term benefit of all residents. The new clubhouse will allow for more community events, especially during the off season when being outdoors isn’t conducive in our climate. There are plans being put together to develop this concept. Without this space, we are limiting ourselves as a community. The cost to rent is only being raised to cover the cost of cleaning the larger space. When we invest in our infrastructure, we are investing in ourselves and our properties.

Road Repair and Improvement
We spend $300,000 + on road repair yearly and it does not come close to getting our community pristine, paved roads. The true cost to get us our dream roads is $8-10M. To put it in perspective, that is 6 years of total revenue, if we do not spend a penny on anything else. No lake, no employees, no repairs or improvements on anything. We simply do not have the revenue to complete this type of project, so we use affordable methods to keep our roads in reasonably good condition. Our team of employees does an unbelievable job keeping our roads maintained.

Please, before you post, get the facts. The board is an open book and will gladly answer any questions. Come to the quarterly meetings or send us an email. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and your neighbors doing our best to keep Roaming Shores moving forward.

Happy Holidays and a Healthy New Year to all!
