During the month of June, the fishing club held two events to encourage young people to fish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kid\u2019s Fishing Seminar<\/strong> was held on Saturday, June 7th. At this event, children with their parents and grandparents participated. Members of the club took turns teaching them the basics of fishing. We gave each child a new rod, reel, and packet of fishing gear. We taught the basics of rigging and how to cast. Then we provided lunch for everyone, and the children went home with their new gear to practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Kid\u2019s Fishing Day<\/strong> was held on Saturday, June 21st. At this event, children with their parents and grandparents met at the club house cove area. We provided worms for bait and the shoreline was crowded with many young children enjoying the sport of fishing. It was great to see so many children and their families in attendance. We again provided lunch for everyone. Each child then selected a gift from a large selection of prizes to take home. The children caught a total of 52 fish that morning. Membership fees are only $25 a year per family. We wish to thank the many members who contributed additional money to help support these two kids\u2019 events.
