The biggest weekend of the year in Roaming Shores is Independence Day weekend (July 4th<\/sup> \u2013 7th<\/sup>)  Check out the following planned events! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer Concert \u2013 July 5th<\/sup> <\/h2>\n\n\n

On Friday, July 5th<\/sup>, join us for a Summer Concert at the Kathy Candall Entertainment Pavilion! We\u2019ll welcome Swamp Rattlers.\u00a0\u00a0Food truck for the evening will be Cove Creek BBQ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concerts are free for RRA Members and their guests only. Concert days are RRA Special Use days which means there will be no parties greater than 25 guests at Beach 1. Membership cards will be checked upon entry. Concerts are tentatively scheduled for 6:00pm to 9:30pm with food service beginning at 5:00pm. Enjoy from Beach 1 or by boat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beach 1 area will be NO WAKE beginning at 5:00pm on concert nights as boaters will be anchoring for the concert. Boaters, there will be an area to park your watercraft marked by buoys near Beach 1. Please park within the buoyed area.

Roaming Shores 5K – July 6th<\/h2>\n\n\n

Attention runners, walkers, and kids! The Annual Roaming Shores 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run\/Walk will be held this year on Saturday, July 6th beginning at 8am at the Clubhouse! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had another record-breaking year in 2023 with 167 participants! Our event continues to be one of the largest races in Ashtabula County! Come join us! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The Roaming Shores 5K\u2019s proceeds benefit our local Safety Services and the STARS Club, which organizes several events in the Shores and the annual Fireworks Display. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 5K is a flat loop around Roaming Shores Village; the 1 Mile is a flat loop around Roaming Rock Boulevard. The race will be professionally timed by Stasny Road Racing.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take advantage of the Early Registration discount and be guaranteed a shirt or tank top (limited quantities available race day) by registering before June 24th! Registration for the 5K is $25 ($30 after July 1st) and the 1 Mile is $10. Shirts are FREE for 5K participants and $5 for the fun run participants.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5K Awards:<\/strong> Overall male and female winners receive trophies. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers in each age group (Male & Female) will receive medals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 Mile Awards: <\/strong>1st place finishers in each age group (Male & Female) will receive medals. 2nd & 3rd place will receive ribbons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Age categories:<\/strong> 9 and younger, 10-14, 15\u201319, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration:<\/strong> You can register online at stasnyroadracing.com<\/a> or runsignup.com\/Race\/OH\/Rome\/RoamingShores5K<\/a>. Paper registration are available at the RRA office. Day of registration will be held in the Clubhouse from 7am to 7:50am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardboard Boat Races – July 6th<\/h2>\n\n\n

Then at noon, The Roaming Shores Police Department will host their 6th Annual Cardboard Boat Race at Beach 1. \u201cTHE CHALLENGE\u201d: to design and build a person-powered corrugated cardboard boat capable of racing a 200-yard course, in Lake Roaming Rock. Boats may be powered by canoe paddles, oars, kayak paddles, approved mechanical paddlewheels, sails and raw muscle power. (Psst, not sure where to begin when it comes to building a cardboard boat?? There will be 2 workshops held June 8th and 22nd from 12-2pm in the clubhouse area.)<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason Scribben Memorial Volleyball Tournament – July 6th<\/h2>\n\n\n

Jason P. Scribben was a senior at Grand Valley High School and died in a boating accident on Lake Roaming Rock on July 4th, 1998. The volleyball court at beach #1 was dedicated to him. Since 1999, the family has held a 3 on 3 Volleyball Tournament in his honor. 
 
This year the annual Jason P. Scribben Memorial 3 on 3 Volleyball Tournament will be on July 6th at the Roaming Shores Beach #1 Volleyball Court. The tournament will start at 1pm and registration will begin at 12:00pm. 
 
Please come and join us as we celebrate Jason P. Scribben\u2019s memories and support safe boating on our Lake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DJ & Fireworks – July 6th<\/h2>\n\n\n

The highlight of summer, our own Roaming Shores Fireworks Display! This year’s show is scheduled for Saturday July 6th at 10pm, weather permitting. The rain date will be July 7th. The annual display is made possible by the generous donations of our Membership and the tireless efforts of the STARS Club! The show is best viewed by boat or from the Beach 1 area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DJ Doctor D will playing music at the Kathy Crandall Entertainment Pavilion beginning at 7pm until 11pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the fireworks display is fired from Beach 2, please note that the entire Beach 2 area will be closed on the day of the show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boaters: Please anchor your boats around the buoys (rather than down the lake) for safety and the best view of lower & sky driven displays. Try to be in place by 9:30pm\/9:45pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

**On Fireworks Night, the entire lake will be NO WAKE beginning at 8pm until dawn the following morning.**<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

STARS Cornhole Tournament – July 7th<\/h2>\n\n\n

The STARS Club will be hosting their Annual Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, July 7th. The tournament will be held on the field between the Roaming Shores Clubhouse Pool & Pavilion (13 Roaming Rock Blvd.) Rain or shine. Check-in and Registration starts at 12 Noon, Tournament starts at 1:00pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration is $20 per Person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may enter as an individual or a Team. Individual entries will be assigned a teammate via \u201cRandom\u201d Drawing! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
