Update: Thank you for your cooperation. The treatment is now complete. All lake activities may resume.

Conditions on the lake have resulted in a decision to schedule an algaecide treatment on the northern half of the lake for Tuesday, June 23rd. This includes a line from about Sugar Creek north. The southern half of the lake will not be treated at this time. Therefore, those in the untreated areas, please stay vigilant and avoid any signs of algal blooms.

*Please note that these plans can change due to weather conditions, so please be alert to any updates.

1) The lake level will be lowered if necessary to comply with the Ohio EPA requirements for this application. We hope to only lower it 2-4 inches. Please adjust your boat tie downs to accommodate the water level change.

2) Please turn off all fountains or other devices that agitate the lake water in the application area on Tuesday AM. They may be turned back on Thursday AM.

3) The application will be applied during the day of June 23rd.

4) Please refrain from any activities on the lake, including boating, jet skis, etc., starting Tuesday, June 23rd to allow the treatment to be effective and to spread in a predictable manner. Boat traffic may resume on Thursday morning, June 25th. The boat ramp will be closed from Tuesday AM until Thursday AM.

5) While the lake is deemed safe following the application, we are closing the beaches Tuesday, June 23rd and reopening them on Thursday, June 25th. While unlikely, if you observe any undisposed product (a white powder with a bluish tint) after Thursday morning, avoid direct contact and let the office know where it is observed.

6) Do not water your property with water from the lake during the application period.

7) If you live in the southern end of the lake, please avoid contact with any active blooms.

While these steps may be inconvenient, they are necessary to ensure the best chance for a successful application.

We have just received word that our road contractor, Suit-Kote, will be applying fog seal to the roads that were treated this year as the final phase of the road project. Conditions tomorrow are expected to be ideal for the application.

During the application process, there will be a temporary period of approximately 10–15 minutes when residents will not be able to access their road while the sealant cures.

While Suit-Kote will have crews on site to assist with traffic control, please note that if you are exiting your driveway and the sealant is still brown, it has not fully cured. Once cured, the road surface will turn black.

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important improvements.

The 60th Anniversary Committee is excited to welcome the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team (CLWSST), a Division I ski team, to Lake Roaming Rock on Saturday, June 13, for two performances at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

Please note that there will be special restrictions on the lake that day to ensure the safety of the performers, spectators, and those viewing the show from watercraft.

Boating Restrictions

Between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM, the entire lake will be No Wake.

For the safety of the ski team during the performances, a portion of the lake between the Clubhouse area, Beach 2, and Calabria will be closed to all watercraft traffic. This area will be marked with buoys. Please see the map below. There will be a designated area for members who wish to view the show by boat. Boaters must be in position by 1:30 PM for the 2:00 PM show and by 4:30 PM for the 5:00 PM show.

Note: Once you are in position, you may not leave the designated viewing area until the performance has concluded.

Swimming Restrictions

Because the lake swimming barrier at Beach 1 will need to be temporarily removed for the show, Beach 1 will be closed to swimming until the barrier is reinstalled following the final performance.

Be sure to come out and enjoy one or both of these amazing shows! Stick around afterward for a summer concert featuring Thunder Creek beginning at 6:00 PM.

We’ll also have a great lineup of food trucks throughout the day, including Blowing Smoke BBQ and Nita’s Farm Fresh Cafe.
