<p>Spring Cleanup Day is Saturday, May 2nd from 8am to noon at the Clubhouse parking lot!</p>



<p>Cleanup Day is your opportunity to get rid of your “unusables”. This event is FREE to residents of Roaming Shores Village. There is NO LIMIT on loads, however, no commercial or landscaping vehicles will be allowed.</p>



<p><strong>General Unacceptable Waste:</strong></p>



<p>• Bricks, Rocks, Concrete, and Cement:</p>



<p>These materials are generally not suitable for standard waste collection due to their weight and composition.</p>



<p>• Yard and Lawn Waste:</p>



<p>While some areas may have separate collection programs for yard waste, it&#8217;s not usually accepted during standard clean-up days.</p>



<p>• Construction Materials:</p>



<p>Items like lumber, drywall, and other construction debris often require specialized disposal methods.</p>



<p>Hazardous Waste:</p>



<p>• Insecticides/Pesticides:</p>



<p>These chemicals are considered hazardous and require special handling.</p>



<p>• Paint:</p>



<p>Paint and paint cans are also hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular trash.</p>



<p>• Batteries:</p>



<p>Batteries, including those in electronics and appliances, should be recycled or disposed of properly through designated programs.</p>



<p>• Anti-freeze, Oil, Solvents:</p>



<p>These hazardous chemicals require specialized disposal and should not be placed in regular trash.</p>



<p>• Tires:</p>



<p>Tires are not usually accepted during clean-up days and should be taken to designated tire recycling centers.</p>



<p>• Propane Tanks:</p>



<p>These tanks contain pressurized gas and require special handling for disposal.</p>



<p>• Electronics:</p>



<p>Computers, monitors, and other electronic devices contain hazardous materials that require proper recycling.</p>



<p>Bulk Items:</p>



<p>• Appliances:</p>



<p>Refrigerators, microwaves, and other appliances often contain hazardous materials like freon and batteries that require special handling for disposal.</p>



<p>• Car Parts:</p>



<p>Items like car batteries, tires, and engine parts are generally not accepted during clean-up days.</p>



<p><strong>Other Unacceptable Items:</strong></p>



<p>• Dirt, Gravel, Rock, and Sod: These materials are generally not suitable for standard waste collection.</p>

<p>To assist us in our efforts, we are taking orders in advance for our annual plunge t-shirts and hoodies. T-shirts will sell for $15, zipped hoodies $35, and pullover hoodies $30 each. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why We Do It</h2>



<p>The funds raised from this initiative will play a pivotal role in supporting various educational and community programs. Among the beneficiaries are the Jeffrey B. Meddock Memorial Scholarship at Pymatuning Valley Schools, which serves as a lasting tribute to an esteemed individual, and the Grand Valley Schools student programs established in memory of Emily Plickert. Additionally, the Jefferson Area Local Schools Academic Boosters will receive support, further enhancing the resources available for academic enrichment. Furthermore, the Thomas Zirkle Memorial ATECH Scholarship stands to benefit from these efforts, contributing to the advancement of technology education. Lastly, the Roaming Shores Kids’ Breakfast with Santa event will also receive assistance, ensuring the continuation of this heartwarming tradition for the community.</p>

<p>The Village of Roaming Shores will have four positions on Village Council and the office of Mayor on the ballot this year. Four candidates have filed for the four available Council seats, and two candidates have filed for Mayor. The mayoral candidates are incumbent Jennie D’Amicone and Duane Helms. The term of office for these positions will run from 2026 through 2029.</p>



<p>Residents are invited to attend a <strong>Meet the Mayoral Candidates Night</strong> at the RomeRock Association Clubhouse on <strong>Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>This event will be moderated by the <strong>Ashtabula County League of Women Voters</strong>. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in writing prior to the start of the debate.</p>



<p>The League of Women Voters is a political grassroots network and membership organization that has worked for more than a century to empower voters and protect democracy. It is a women-led, nonpartisan organization that believes voting is a fundamental right and is dedicated to ensuring elections remain fair and unbiased.</p>



<p>This event is voluntary and will be conducted in a respectful and orderly manner. Come meet and learn more about your candidates for Mayor of Roaming Shores.</p>



<p>The polling place for Roaming Shores will <strong>temporarily be located at Village Hall, 2500 Hayford Road, Roaming Shores, Ohio 44084, on Election Day, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.</strong></p>

<p>A special entertainment treat for us will be&nbsp; 60&#8217;s &amp; 70&#8217;s songs &amp; music, performed by James Baucco. (Marilyn&#8217;s fiance) .</p>



<p>The menu is fantastic but limited. So, the owners are open to us bringing our own desserts to share with our group, if we choose to. This is a chance to share your favorite dessert, but not required.&nbsp; The Winery offers cheese cake on their menu.</p>



<p>Note:&nbsp; This winery&nbsp; &#8216;does&#8217; take Credit &amp; Debit cards.</p>
