10:00 am: Public Forum Regarding Watercraft Operating Rules

February 21, 2026

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) will host a community forum on proposed amendments to the Lake Roaming Rock management provisions established in Oho Administrative Code (OAC) 1501:47-7-19 on Saturday, February 212026 at 10:00 a.m. The forum will be made available for community members to view or participate virtually by registering https://rebrand.ly/Rulehearing-RoamingRock

OAC 1501:47-7-19 provides watercraft operating rules specifically for waters under the management authority of the RomeRock Property Owners Association. The proposed amendments will incorporate community-requested provisions intended to clarify operating rules regarding wake boarding, use of wake-enhancing devices, night speeds and boat camping, jetboards, efoils, and airfoils. The draft amendment and associated documents can be found on the Register of Ohio website here: https://www.registerofohio.state.oh.us/rules/search/details/375996

Community members are encouraged to attend this public forum to provide feedback and share their experiences. The forum is not an official public rules hearing, however it will be conducted in a similar manner and all comments or position statements provided by participants will be included in the Hearing Summary Report that is submitted to the Joint Committee on Agency Rules prior to the legislative committee hearing.

Anyone who is unable to take part in the community forum can attend the official public hearing which will be held on February 19th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the H-1 Conference Room at ODNR Headquarters, located at 2045 Morse Road in Columbus. Individuals wishing to view or participate in this hearing will have the option to attend in-person or may register here https://rebrand.ly/RulesHearingRegistration to attend online.

Community members wishing to provide input who are unable to attend either the community forum or the public hearing may submit comments by email to deborah.green@dnr.ohio.gov or through U.S. mail to:

ODNR, Parks and Watercraft Rules

2045 Morse Road, A-2

Comments and position statements that are submitted in writing or by email are deemed to be as valid and considered to be as legitimate as statements made during a hearing or community meeting so it is not necessary for anyone to submit comments through more than one of the available methods.

Public comments and recommendations, along with public safety, recreational opportunities, regional economics and environmental factors are key components considered during the development and implementation of a lake management plan.
