3/17/2020 Update from RRA Board President

Greetings,

We are currently staffing the RRA office and are using social distancing and all of the recommended procedures advised by the Governor of Ohio’s office. We will continue to register watercraft in the office as of right now. Keep in mind that the rules are changing almost daily. Any group meetings pertaining to RRA activities is cancelled until further notice. The Clubhouse will be closed until further notice for all rentals and deposits are being returned. Any change of office hours or any procedure changes will be communicated via email from the office so make sure that you read all RRA emails. The Annual Meeting scheduled for Sat. April 25 is cancelled until a date to be determined. Be safe my friends and we will all make it through these crazy times. Please direct any questions to me via email: DJMAN78@AOL.COM

Sincerely,

Rick Brothers
President of RRA Board of Directors

An Ounce of Prevention

The hot topic currently is the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) which has lead to a National State of Emergency to be declared.

Is the response too great? Not enough? There’s been compelling arguments each way.

Regardless of its comparison to other illnesses, it’s important to exercise caution. This strain of the coronavirus is very contagious and there is not currently a vaccine available to aid in its prevention. So even if illnesses such as this will not adversely affect your own health, you are still capable of passing it along to someone who will be severely impacted if they contract it.

This will lead to further cancellations and inconveniences until its spread is under control. Until that time, please exercise caution. If you are unsure of your own health or concerned about the health of others, please don’t take the chance and stay home.

Prevention Tips from the CDC

RomeRock Association and the Coronavirus

Your RomeRock Association staff and Board of Directors are watching closely as our health situation unfolds. The safety of our staff and, you, the residents is our number one priority. As of now, our office hours remain the same. We will let you know immediately if that changes.

Decisions on future meetings; Monthly Board Meeting, Annual Association Meeting, Informational Meetings, Club and organizational meetings will be adjusted as required by our government and our health situation. This may mean rescheduling or cancelling; dependent on the situation.

We will continue to communicate through our Eblast. Please watch for updates. In the meantime, please stay safe, practice good health hygiene, follow the health and quarantine guidelines in place, help your neighbors when you can and do what you always do….make this a safe and awesome community.

A Leap Day Plunge!

Last Saturday, the Roaming Shores Polar Bear Club held its 15th Annual Polar Bear Plunge. Plungers from Grand Valley, Pymatuning, and Jefferson schools along with several other crazy area participants took the icy plunge into Lake Roaming Rock to raise money for several local charities. Grand Valley Schools were the winners this year!

Thanks to everyone from the Polar Bear Club for all of their hard work to make this happen and to our participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made it a success!

I would also like to thank (I think 😘) Leeann, Pat, Al, Laurie and Mindy for sponsoring me for the plunge! I think I’m finally thawed out lol!

Many thanks to Gazette Newspapers and Great Lakes Printing for their help updating the map and distributing it! Extras maps are available at the RRA Office. We’ll be working on getting copies to the Village Hall, Marina, Paradise Bay, and to our local realtors.
