On June 9, 2018 the club held its Kids Learn to Fish Day. Nine kids and their parents showed up for the event. The kids were taught how to tie knots, put on split-shot sinkers and bobbers. All of the kids received free fishing rods and learned how to cast them. The club also showed the kids the anatomy of a live large bluegill. The club demonstrated how to clean fish by 2 different methods, with an electric knife and a filet knife. The kids seemed quite impressed when you could clean and skin a fish in less than a minute. The meeting was followed by a hotdog lunch. It was a very successful event.
