Winter Preparation

We’ve had a couple of teasers, but like it or not, the worst of winter is coming. Make sure you’re ready!

Please remove all vehicles, boat trailers, basketball stands, etc. from the RRA right-of-ways. The RSV has a regulation against plowing snow out into or across the roadways. Make sure your plow drivers are aware. Do not park on the roads when there is a possibility of snowfall. Not only is it dangerous, it is against the RRA Rules & Regulations to park on the road when snowfall exceeds 2 inches.

Make sure your mail boxes and posts are secure enough to withstand the winter snow plowing. The RRA’s policy is to only repair the boxes we strike, not those simply pushed aside by the snow itself. Consider placing a snow shield in front of (not attached to) your mailbox to deflect the incoming snow.

For garbage service, Waste Management asks all customers to please have the area and pathway around your container salted and cleared of snow and ice.
